Akshay Oberoi to Star in Romantic Drama ‘Tu Chahiye’

Actor Akshay Oberoi is gearing up for his role in the upcoming romantic drama titled ‘Tu Chahiye,’ where he will share the screen with television sensation Ashnoor Kaur.

Akshay, who is also set to appear in the star-studded ‘Fighter,’ alongside Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, expressed his excitement about taking on a full-fledged romantic love story. In a time when such tales are relatively rare in cinema, Akshay finds it refreshing to be part of this project. He remarked, “I’m thrilled to be a part of an all-out romantic love story. It’s a breath of fresh air to see a love story in the making, especially when there are so few of them nowadays. It’s also been a while since I’ve taken on a role like this myself.”

Speaking about his character in ‘Tu Chahiye,’ Akshay emphasized its complexity and depth. He described it as a challenging role with various shades, offering a unique character arc. This character doesn’t fit the mold of a traditional romantic hero, which adds to the challenge and excitement of portraying it.

Production for the film is set to kick off soon, with the picturesque city of Raipur serving as the enchanting backdrop for its story. The scenic beauty of Raipur is expected to enhance the visual appeal of ‘Tu Chahiye.’

On a different note, Akshay Oberoi is also a part of ‘Fighter,’ a film directed by Siddharth Anand and featuring Anil Kapoor. This movie marks the beginning of an aerial action franchise and features real-life Indian Air Force cadets. The soundtrack album, composed by the talented duo Vishal–Shekhar, includes five songs, and Satchith Paulose serves as the cinematographer. ‘Fighter’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 25, 2024, coinciding with Republic Day.
