Dr. Baburam Bhattarai Provides Statements on Lalita Niwas Case

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, has officially given statements regarding the Lalita Niwas case to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). On a Sunday evening, CIB officials were summoned to his private residence for this purpose. Bhattarai’s press advisor, Bishwadeep Pandey, relayed the message that Dr. Bhattarai had provided information in response to the questions raised concerning his role.
In a tweet posted on Monday morning, Bhattarai expressed his commitment to transparency: “In accordance with my public commitment from the beginning, I have fulfilled my duty by giving the truth to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) about the questions raised regarding the decision of the Council of Ministers of my time in the Lalita Niwas case! I hope that this case will be a starting point to end all forms of corruption and irregularity in the country and guarantee good governance.”
Dr. Bhattarai remains optimistic about the impact of his disclosures, stating, “I hope that this case will serve as a catalyst for eradicating all forms of corruption and irregularities in the country, ensuring good governance.”
