Resolution Reached in Title Dispute for Film ‘Ek Bhagavad Gita’

Kathmandu, Nepal – The controversy surrounding the title of the film ‘Ek Bhagavad Gita’ has come to an end as the movie’s producers have agreed to modify its title.
Following negotiations between the concerned parties and the film producers, the movie will now be known as ‘Ek Bhagavad ra Ek Gita’ (a social story).
It’s worth noting that a complaint was filed at the Film Development Board by various organizations, including Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, Shiv Sena Nepal, Vishwa Hindu Yuva Sangh, Jagatguru Ashram, and 13 other associations affiliated with Hindu Jagaran Nepal. They sought to halt the screening of the film ‘Ek Bhagavad Gita,’ contending that the film’s title and characters were offensive to Sanatan Dharma.
As a result of these objections, the Film Development Board reportedly suspended the endorsement process necessary for the film’s screening.
Bhuvan KC, the Chair of the Board, expressed satisfaction with their role in facilitating an agreement between the two parties, which he believes bodes well for the film industry.
Film Producer Sunil Kumar Thapa confirmed that the movie will proceed with its screening on the originally scheduled date of September 15.
“While respecting the sentiments of all concerned, we have decided to change the title. However, it’s important to note that the film does not intend to offend any religion or community,” Thapa emphasized.
Directed by Jharna Thapa, the film features actors Bipin Karki, Suhana Thapa, Dhiraj Magar, and others in prominent roles.
