The Hangzhou Asian Games torch relay is all set to kick off near the renowned West Lake on September 8, as announced in a press conference at the Hangzhou Asian Games Main Media Center.

This torch will traverse through 11 cities in Zhejiang province, including Huzhou, Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Ningbo, Zhoushan, Taizhou, Wenzhou, Lishui, Jinhua, and Quzhou, concluding its journey in Hangzhou on September 20, marking the final leg.

A total of 2,022 torchbearers, spanning from 14 to 84 years old, will partake in this relay. In line with the games’ principles of being “green, smart, economical, and ethical,” the torch relay’s planning prioritizes simplicity and appropriateness in its route. Each city’s relay route is designed to highlight its unique features, historical and cultural significance, and natural beauty, promising a diverse and visually captivating experience.

Moreover, the torch relay seamlessly integrates both online and offline components. Following the Asian Games Flame Collection Ceremony on June 15, the “Digital Torchbearer” online relay activity was launched, with over 760 million people participating to date, and the count of “Digital Torchbearers” exceeding 84 million.
