Heavy Rainfall Triggers Landslide, Blocks Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung District

A landslide in the Baglung area of the Kaligandaki Corridor has resulted in a road blockage. The heavy rainfall that occurred on Saturday night has caused this obstruction, which has persisted since this morning.

As a consequence of this road closure, the transportation link to all the local regions in the southern part of the district and the neighboring districts of Parbat and Gulmi has been severed. Meen Bahadur Khadka, the Chief of Traffic Police, reported that vehicles have been unable to traverse the affected section following the landslide.

The road blockage occurred specifically in Baglung Municipality-10, Dablyang, situated within the Balewa section, starting from Maldhunga of the Kaligandaki Corridor. Baglung Municipality is actively engaged in efforts to clear and reopen the roadway.
