Lalita Niwas Case: Arrest warrant issued for Bijay Gachhadar and four Minister

The Kathmandu District Court has issued arrest warrants against four former ministers, including Bijay Gachhadar, a prominent central member of the Nepali Congress and former Deputy Prime Minister and Physical Planning Minister, in connection with the embezzlement of Lalita Niwas land in Baluwatar.

According to reliable sources from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, arrest warrants have been issued for Bijay Gachhadar, along with former ministers Dumbar Bahadur Shrestha, Chandradev Joshi, and Sanjay Kumar Shah. The CIB is diligently pursuing the case and has already obtained arrest warrants for 406 individuals, including four former secretaries, related to this land embezzlement matter.

The alleged involvement of the former ministers is related to the misuse of government land at Lalita Niwas through the manipulation of official documents, transferring of the land to private individuals.

Bijay Gachhadar previously served as the Minister of Physical Planning and Construction in 2067. During his tenure, in Ashad 2067, while he held the position of branch officer in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Construction, the current Secretary of the Ministry of Communications, Krishna Raut, raised concerns regarding a proposal to develop a master plan for housing expansion for special individuals.

As the investigation progresses, the authorities are determined to uncover the truth behind the embezzlement allegations and hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
