Mild Heatwave Sweeps Across Bangladesh, Dhaka Included

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has reported the presence of a mild heatwave affecting several parts of the country, including Dhaka.

According to their statement, “A mild heatwave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Kishoreganj, Rajshahi, Bogura, Sirajganj, and Sylhet, and it may abate from some places.”

Additionally, the BMD has made predictions of light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, in most areas across Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. These weather conditions are expected at many places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, and Rangpur divisions, with moderately heavy to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country.

Furthermore, both day and night temperatures are likely to experience a slight decrease across the nation.

This weather pattern is influenced by the axis of the monsoon trough, which stretches through India’s Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Assam, crossing the central part of Bangladesh. An associated trough extends northward to the North Bay. Monsoon activity is currently fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
