Nara Lokesh Detained in Protest Over Father Chandrababu Naidu’s Arrest

Nara Lokesh, the general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the son of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, was taken into custody after staging a protest against his father’s arrest on Saturday.

Nara Lokesh, who is currently leading the “Yuvagalam Padayatra,” initiated a sit-in protest following his father’s arrest. During the protest in the East Godavari district, several TDP MLAs who were demonstrating alongside him were also detained.

The TDP has raised allegations that the police prevented Nara Lokesh from meeting his father. Naidu’s legal counsel has indicated that they are seeking bail through the High Court.

Sources report that Naidu has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes.

The TDP has accused the ruling YSRCP government of unlawfully arresting Naidu while he was resting on a bus. Party spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram alleged that the state police and CID initiated the process of arresting Naidu illegally from Friday night.

Hundreds of police personnel surrounded the campsite where Naidu was resting and detained all leaders present with him. Naidu questioned the grounds for his arrest, to which the police could not provide a clear answer, according to reports.

Furthermore, the TDP alleged that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was behind the arrest and referred to him as the most corrupt chief minister in the country.

The TDP expressed its condemnation of the arrest of its leader through various social media posts, questioning the legality of arresting a former CM without specifying the reason. They pledged their support to Naidu, emphasizing that the people stand with him and they will continue to fight for his cause.

The party also claimed that authorities did not provide answers to questions posed by leaders and advocates during Naidu’s arrest. Chaotic scenes and tension reportedly prevailed during the arrest.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh CID held a press conference at its Mangalagiri headquarters regarding Naidu’s arrest in connection with the Skill Development scam.
