Snap Appoints Pulkit Trivedi as India Managing Director

Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, has named Pulkit Trivedi as its new India Managing Director, a role in which he will directly report to Snap’s APAC President, Ajit Mohan.

Trivedi brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent the last five years at Google, where he served as the Director of the Google Pay-India Business Team.

In his new capacity, Trivedi will shoulder the responsibility of overseeing Snap’s operations in India, which encompasses revenue generation, partner support, and nurturing the creator ecosystem.

Ajit Mohan, Snap’s APAC President, expressed confidence in Trivedi, citing his profound expertise in business development and growth as a valuable asset. Mohan emphasized that Trivedi’s skills would continue to enhance the experience for Snap’s rapidly expanding community of over 200 million Snapchatters in India.

As part of a revamped operational structure, several key teams, including those responsible for growth, market development, partnerships, content, and the creator ecosystem, will now report directly to Trivedi.

Trivedi noted the extraordinary potential of India as one of the world’s fastest-growing internet economies and affirmed Snap’s commitment to contributing actively to the growth of its community and businesses in the region.

Prior to his current appointment, Trivedi played an instrumental role at Google, where he crafted strategic plans, fostered crucial partnerships, and spearheaded the monetization agenda for Google Pay in India. His extensive background also includes leadership roles at other major technology companies, such as Meta and Google, within the country.

Snap previously announced a significant milestone with over 200 million monthly active Snapchatters in India, with more than 120 million Indian users engaging with content on Stories and Spotlight, two prominent features of the app. The Spotlight feature, in particular, has experienced remarkable growth in India, with a significant increase in user engagement and a new generation of creators building their audiences and businesses on Snapchat.
