Woman Arrested for Illegally Importing Gold at Nepal’s Rasuwagadhi Border

A 41-year-old woman, identified as Pachemu Tamang from Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-3 Uggaram, has been apprehended at Miteri Bridge in North Rasuwa for her involvement in the illegal importation of gold.
According to the District Police Chief, Subas Budhathoki, border security personnel intercepted Tamang as she attempted to smuggle one kilogram of gold from Kerung into Nepal via the Rasuwagadhi border crossing. During the apprehension, it was noted that the woman was unwell, prompting her admission to Rasuwa Hospital for medical treatment, all while being under security surveillance.
The local police are currently conducting an in-depth investigation into this case to uncover further details and any potential accomplices involved.
